The Agent's House Bed and Breakfast

Whitney on Wye, Herefordshire

The Agent's House is an Edwardian property, built around 1905-1910 as a residence for the Land Agent to the nearby Whitney Court. At the Agent's House, we provide both self catering apartments, traditional bed and breakfast accommodation, private dining and small events can also be catered for.

In the main house you will find two traditional bed and breakfast rooms. These are at the front of the house with bay windows overlooking fields, The River Wye etc... Both these rooms also have use of the balcony (see the pic of front of the house). The main house also has the guests breakfast room on the ground floor (we offer superb breakfasts with all local ingredients).

We also offer a separate 2 bedroom cottage. Called Montgomery's Coach House and two one bedroom annexes.

The Agents Office

As it says in the title, this was the land agents office at the beginning of the 20th Century - apparently farmers used to queue up to pay rent to the landowners (Whitney Court Estate, who still own the vast majority of our village).

The Agents Office has private entrance, vaulted ceiling, orginal features, including the safe area which once had all the title plans of farms etc... (this is now a very expensive rose wood sock drawer :)

This room also has a concealed and very modern kitchenette as well as log burner.

The River Wye, the Wye Valley and beyond

As well as being on one of the most beautiful stretches of The River Wye in the Wye Valley on the border of England and Wales (we are just on the English Side) we are only a few miles away from Hay-on-Wye (Wales) that is world famous literary town and has the Hay Festival in May. This is also copied around the world now. Hay pulls in many visitors throughout the year.

The Offas Dyke Path is on our doorstep that is a famous national trail following the border. Obviously fishing is huge here as is canoeing in the summer. (we can organise canoe trips for our guests through a partner company).
